The high layer is divided into multiple geometric areas, which are then designed with dollops of dyed buttercream. Using food-safe plastic, geometric shapes are created and stuck amid the dollops. The cake’s bottom layer is framed with a scallop border, understated enough to let the highest layer take the spotlight.
